Pub of the week: Draughtsman Alehouse

All aboard for our first pub of the week on a main line train platform – just the ticket for our beautifully engineered beer!

Following the conversion of a disused Victorian buffet room, this micropub opened its doors last summer, in Doncaster station. Since, it has deservedly become a popular watering hole for passengers and locals.

The Draughtsman is an alehouse with a first class bar selection – including a number of Box Steam brews. This month, you’ll find plenty of passenger refreshment in our Yakima Valley style Penalty Box, single hopped Citra, Spoke, and citrussy pale ale, Half Sovereign.

A fellow family run business, this station bar on platform 3b represents a combined passion for local history with a love for beer and regional flavour; including coffee roasted in Sheffield and gins distilled in Harrogate.

Why not station yourselves in the Draughtsman Alehouse this weekend? Waiting for the train never tasted so good.

Phew, where has the time gone? We’ve been brewing for almost 15 years.

We’ll never produce factory style beer. Our creative brewers use hop flavours to their full, forever artful in the quite wondrous production of naturally flavoursome beer.

Our roots are firmly in the West Country, where we continue to be inspired by the engineering triumphs of the late great Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
