Teacher Training

Tonight after observing Sunny’s Hot Power Fusion class, I stayed for her Yoga Sculpt class to be an active participant. I was worried I’d be super exhausted and sore from snowshoeing the day before at the Yoga, Snow & Wine event. I was so worried about it, I warned Sunny when I checked in for class, letting her know I wasn’t sure how I’d physically do in her class tonight. Good news, I was a-okay. In fact, I was way more than a-okay. I felt super strong and amazing both during and after class. This was the first Yoga Sculpt class where I didn’t collapse to my knees at any point. I was even able to hold myself up on both sides for Side Plank. Trust me, I was pretty proud of myself for that one.

My intention for class tonight was positive energy. “Yes I can!” ran through my mind over and over again, during the entire class. When the going started to feel like it was getting a little tough, I’d smile at myself in the mirror and reminded myself that I had this. It was the strongest I’ve ever felt in a Yoga Sculpt class before.

This was my fourth Yoga Sculpt class with Sunny and I loved it. Yoga Sculpt is easily becoming one of my favorite classes to take at CorePower Yoga. I love the music, the energy and the huge sense of accomplishment I feel after taking a class.

It was a fairly quiet group tonight. Class wasn’t early as crowded as Sunny’s Yoga Sculpt class on Saturday morning. I was perfectly okay with having plenty of space around me. You don’t need a full class in order to be able to feel and soak in all of the good energy that comes from taking a Yoga Sculpt class. I used the three-pound hand weights again for class. I think for the next Yoga Sculpt class I take, I’m going to up my weight to five pounds. It’s time to push myself a little more and get a bit stronger. Wakeboarding season is right around the corner and I want to make sure I have the arm strength to hold onto the handle.

At the end of class, I got a really nice hands-on assist from Sunny in Supine Twist, on both sides. It felt amazing. I also reached another Yoga Teacher Training milestone – tonight’s class marks class #30 in my 60-class requirement for graduation. I’m now half way there!
