Teacher Training

Tonight was another double dose of yoga with Sunny at CorePower Yoga. My husband and I took Sunny’s Hot Power Fusion class at 4:30 and then stayed for her Yoga Sculpt class at 6PM. Two hours of back-to-back yoga sounds like a daunting task, but I enjoy doing this double combo each week. I won’t lie. It’s not easy taking these two classes right after each other, but I always feel like a million bucks when I walk out of the studio. Not to mention starved for dinner. Both of these classes combined definitely help you work up an appetite.

My mat was already soaked from taking Sunny’s Hot Power Fusion class right before Yoga Sculpt. I didn’t care. Being cold in a Yoga Sculpt is something I never have to worry about. Plus, we don’t spend a whole lot of time on our mats anyways during class.

Sunny’s playlist for class tonight totally rocked, literally! It was a collection of artists like Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Van Halen and Blondie, just to name a few. Who knew Yoga Sculpt could be so much more fun while singing along even if my heart feels like it’s going to beat itself out of my chest? It was hard not to sing along. In fact, Sunny encouraged it. Even with being near exhaustion at times, Sunny’s playlist made me want to keep moving because I was having so much fun.

Yeah I said it. I had fun in a Yoga Sculpt class. A LOT of it!

Since this was my fifth Yoga Sculpt class, I decided to challenge myself and use the 5lbs hand weights instead of the 3lbs hand weights I’ve been using for each class so far. Towards the end of class, I had to go back to the 3lbs weights because my arms were so pooped. Still, it was progress in the right direction. I was proud that I even used the 5lbs weights at all.

At the end of class today, I was already feeling the burn in my core and arms. Signs of another awesome Yoga Sculpt class with Sunny! I look forward to the day when I can fit three Yoga Sculpt classes a week into my schedule. Two more weeks left in yoga teacher training and my schedule will open up again.
